Bat Appreciation—Bats of South Dakota

While we won’t see many bats in South Dakota this time of year, they do get quite a bit of attention around October 31! Learn about the 13 different species of bats that call South Dakota home. These flying mammals are ferocious mosquito eaters, each eating 1000’s every night! We will learn what we can do to support our bat population and in turn keeping our insect pest populations low including building a bat house! One bat house per household.
