Registration Instructions: Parents, DO NOT register yourself for this class if you are not the student. Please create a new Go Outdoors account for the student (if they don’t already have one) and ensure the account used to register reflects the student that will be attending the class.
Upon completion of this class, students will receive their Hunter Safety and Firearm Education (HuntSAFE) Certificate. Students must attend all scheduled class times for completion.
During this class, students will receive training on proper firearm safety skills, ethical hunting practices, and a presentation on SD hunting laws. Students will be required to pass a written test that covers what they learned in class and show proficiency in hands-on skills.
Please dress for outdoor conditions for any outdoor activities.
NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION ARE TO BE BROUGHT TO THE RANGE.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay and observe.
IMPORTANT:
•When creating the registration profile, use the student's information and not the parents.
•Please use the student's legal name and not nicknames.
•Students must attend all sessions as scheduled.
•Switching between classes and/or range sessions is not permitted
The class will be held at the United Church basement, 401 4th Ave, Edgemont, SD. Do not use main entrance to the church, use side entrance on Mogul Way. Signs will be posted.
Classroom start time is 8:00 am and students cannot be late. Live shooting will be at the Edgemont Gun Range, located west of Edgemont, by the fishing dams by the airport. Take Hwy 18 west out of town about 1 mile, turn left on Builder Ln then turn left on Mud Hill rd. Turn right through the red gate at the gun range. The class will end at 5:00pm. If possible, please come around 3:45 pm to drive your child to the gun range and back to the United Church parking lot.
Please bring a sack lunch to eat. A microwave and refrigerator are available. We will have a working lunch in the class. We will not leave the premises for lunch.
