Thursday Night Adventure: Sunset Hike to Mount Coolidge

Join us for an unforgettable evening as we hike to the summit of Mount Coolidge to catch one of the best sunset views in the park. The adventure begins at the Heddy Draw parking area and winds its way up to the historic fire tower. Along the way, we’ll explore the area’s natural beauty and enjoy the sights, sounds, and stories of Custer State Park at twilight.

Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and prepare for changing weather. Don’t forget your camera—this sunset is worth the climb!

There is no fee to participate, but a park entrance license is required. Licenses may be purchased at the Park Office (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) or at the Visitor Center, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
