Tatanka Story
Join us for Tatanka Story: a guided walk along the creekside trail and through the Game Lodge campground as you help the park team find their missing friend, Tatanka. Through a series of on-trail activities, you will learn information to help guide your journey in finding Tatanka, all while balancing the use of technology as a tool and also enjoying your time in the park while being “unplugged”. Costumes and candy buckets encouraged
Explore decorated campsites and mystery stations, and bring your own candy bag! Each 60-minute hike is led by a guide and departs every 15 minutes from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Reservations are required; call (605) 394-2693 to secure your spot!
No fee for the hike, but a park entrance license is required (available at the Visitor Center).
When: Friday, October 16th, 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 17th, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Where: Custer State Park Visitor Center (Hwy 16A and Wildlife Loop Road)
Who: All ages welcome!
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, water, and a sense of adventure!
